Haryana's people are increasingly employed in the non-farm sectors of the economy. After 2005, most new jobs in Haryana were created in construction and services. While this has led to rising wage employment in the state, the pace of job creation has been slow. Two-thirds of the workforce is still on the farm. There are very few new jobs for women, many of who have withdrawn from the labor force in large numbers.
