The development objective of the Eastern Electricity Highway Project under the First Phase of the Eastern Africa Power Integration Program are to (a) increase the volume and reduce the cost of electricity supply in Kenya; and (b) provide revenues to Ethiopia through the export of electricity from Ethiopia to Kenya. This restructuring requests an extension by 18 months from June 30, 2019 to December 31, 2020.
