This paper challenges the notion that addressing center-periphery inequality will in itself result in sustainable peace in Aceh. The authors argue that an evaluation of the (potential) impacts of the decentralization intrinsic in the peace agreement on conflict must look at the flow of economic and political resources within Aceh, and, more specifically, at the local government institutions that manage their distribution.
