The Lao economy is estimated to have grown at around 7 percent in 2016, a slight moderation from 7.4 percent in the previous year. A marked increase in power sector contribution and some from the manufacturing sector was partly offset by slight moderation in construction, flat mining output, and stable public spending. Around 1,350MW of installed capacity was estimated to have come on stream in 2016 increasing the installed capacity of the power system...
