Small Firms Through the Pandemic : The Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic in Sao Paulo, Brazil (English)

The COVID-19 pandemic has generated an unprecedented shock to the private sector. Using six rounds of data from the Business Pulse Survey in the state of Sao Paulo, we document the impact on micro and small firms throughout the pandemic. The authors show that the shape of the pandemic appears to be W shaped and smaller firms in the state of Sao Paulo have not recovered the levels of sales of 2019 a year and a half after the beginning of the pandemic...
