This analysis presented by the Sustainable Projects Unit deals with the wind farm projects which generate electricity, mini-hydroelectric plants, treatment and reuse of wastewater, cogeneration of landfills and energy efficiency. In addition, it discusses potential financing projects for Mexican companies engaged in foreign trade and focusing on auto parts industry, development of small hotels, tourist infrastructure support in small communities and retirement communities. It explains that the area companies have projects for tourism, retirement communities, industrial plants, equipment, assembly industry, water treatment and reuse of waste, working capital, sustainable energy and larger projects in the mining, petrochemical, port development and docks, power plants and hydroelectric plants and industrial parks and manufacturing industries. Both Nafin and Bancomext do not have an internal procedure that allows integration of a record, the classification (screening) and environmental monitoring of projects, which will ensure compliance with World Bank safeguards and Mexican environmental law during the implementation and operation phases. Therefore, it was determined necessary to develop this manual to allow both institutions to centrally perform the integration of environmental records, in addition to the sorting and screening for them. This will determine the eligibility of projects that can be financed by the World Bank credit and guarantees compliance with its environmental laws and safeguards.
